Ceramic Coating Overview
At Adam’s Polishes, we always strive to offer innovative technology and provide the best products to clean and protect your vehicles. Ceramic coatings are a technology that are ever-growing in popularity in the detailing industry, and we are proud to say that we offer multiple methods of ceramic and graphene ceramic protection to our valued customers.
Q: What is a Ceramic Coating?
A: You may ask, “What makes a ceramic coating different than wax?” A ceramic coating is a solvent-based formula that contains SiO2 silica protection combined with polysiloxane to put a measurable layer of very durable protection over the clear coat or paint on your vehicle, glass, and any exterior textured plastic and rubber trim. Ceramic coatings, like Adam’s Graphene Ceramic Coating™, bond to a surface at the nanomolecular level and are hydrophobic by nature. They not only bead water, but literally push water off the surface of the vehicle to a degree, which allows for easier cleaning at every wash. They typically cannot be removed by normal wash processes, and they provide excellent UV protection to the exterior surfaces of your vehicle. Over the last several years, we continue to test, tweak, and re-test our ceramic coatings to provide systems that are relatively forgiving for a person new to this type of product, or they will be a breeze for those already familiar with applying a coating. Ceramic coatings do require a very specific application process that must be followed to achieve the best results without any issues; they are more involved than applying a wax, letting it haze, and then buffing it off, like most customers are familiar with.
Q: How is this product used?
A: Like all ceramic coatings, preparation and application techniques are very important. Read and follow the printed instructions, and watch the product video, prior to applying this product for the first time. Since ceramic coatings begin to cure when exposed to air, the initial application needs to be correct.
Q: Why is the cure time so long?
A: The time that it takes for our coatings to cure depends on ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, air flow, etc.). The recommended time frame of 24 hours covers most typical application conditions. However, certainly use common sense (do not apply outside during winter temps). Also, be aware that simply wiping away the coating residue with a microfiber towel or that plastic trim feels dry to the touch does not mean it is cured. The coated surface needs 24 hours to cure to the surface before getting damp/wet or getting exposed to moisture or residue from additional products.
Q: What is a hardness rating in terms of Adam’s ceramic coating products?
Adam’s Polishes ceramic coating products each have a different hardness rating on the Pencil Hardness Test. Each coating was designed for its specific application to work best on that specific surface or environment, while factoring in ease of application and removal, as well as longevity. The Pencil Hardness Test determines resistance to scratches on a coated surface by using pencils of specific hardness ratings. The higher the rating, the more durable the coating is, but it is also more difficult to remove in the future. Our UV Ceramic Paint Coating and UV Ceramic Wheel Coating are rated at 9H on the pencil hardness scale. Our Graphene Ceramic Coating™ and Graphene Ceramic Coating™ Advanced are rated at 10H on the pencil hardness scale.
Q: Why is this product so expensive?
A: Ceramic coatings are expensive, and our bottles are either 50ml or 60ml, depending on if you purchase the UV Ceramic Coatings or our Graphene Ceramic Coatings. These small bottles will typically provide enough product for two normal size sedans, provided the coating is stored and maintained properly. Always replace the cap immediately after dispensing the product onto the applicator each time, and store the product in a cool, dark place, out of direct sunlight.

Adam’s Graphene Ceramic Coating™
Graphene Ceramic Coating™ is the next evolution of our UV Ceramic Paint Coating. It is a long-lasting, very durable consumer-grade ceramic coating. It is fairly easy to use, even for a beginner. Independently certified by SGS at 10H+ hardness level. In lab scrub wash testing observes 7+ years of simulated longevity. The 60ml bottle typically coats two full size sedans.

Adam’s Graphene Ceramic Coating™ Advanced
Graphene Ceramic Coating™ Advanced is a more durable version of our Graphene Ceramic Coating™, noted by gold text and the “Advanced” logo on the bottle label. It is even more durable than the standard Graphene Ceramic Coating™, with a bit more expertise required for application, hence the “Advanced” portion of the name. This coating uses an entirely new solvent base that is not flammable, so unlike our other coatings, it can be shipped by air, and even overnighted. Independently certified by SGS at 10H+ hardness level. In lab scrub wash testing observes 9 years of simulated longevity. The 60ml bottle typically coats two full size sedans.

Adam’s Graphene Glass Coating
Adam’s Graphene Ceramic Glass Coating is a graphene ceramic coating designed to bond specifically to glass. Our most durable glass protection product that we have ever offered, yet very easy to use. This product provides up to 1 year, or approximately 10,000 miles of driving, of protection per application. Prep the surface first by claying with Glass Cleaner as the clay lubricant, then use Surface Prep to remove all traces of chemical before application. The 30ml bottle can coat all glass on 3 or more vehicles.
Adam’s Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating™
Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating™ is an easy-to-use Ceramic Coating that can be applied in minutes. Great as a stand-alone product or topper for your current ceramic coating. Graphene Ceramic Spray Coating™ combines the enriched gloss, extreme hydrophobic properties, and effects of our Graphene Ceramic Coating™ with the application of a spray and wipe product. Like our other coatings, this formulation utilizes Adam’s Ceramic Glow Technology and bridges the gap between a professional coating installation, with the DIY enthusiast or weekend hobbyist. Typical longevity is rated 6-12+ months; however, depending on driving conditions and maintenance, results will vary. The 12oz bottle typically coats 5-6 vehicles or more.
