If your Active 3.0 pressure washer is experiencing issues (like a surging/pulsating motor or watery foam) when connected to a foam cannon, the fix is usually found in the cannon's orifice size, cleaning the mesh screen, or adjusting your chemical ratio.
Troubleshoot the setup by checking these core components:
- Install a Smaller Orifice: The Active 3.0 features high water flow (approx. 3.0 GPM). Many universal foam cannons ship with a 1.25mm or 1.4mm orifice, which allows too much water to pass through, causing the pressure washer to pulse or "surge". Swap the internal orifice for a 1.1mm nozzle to restrict the flow slightly and build optimal pressure.
- Clean the Foam Mesh Screen: If the cannon produces watery, runny soap instead of thick suds, the metal mesh screen inside the brass head may be clogged with dried wax or soap residue. Unscrew the brass head, pull out the small mesh cylinder, and soak it in warm water and distilled white vinegar for 30 minutes to dissolve the buildup.
- Check the Soap-to-Water Ratio: High-flow pressure washers require concentrated soaps. Try a mix of 2 to 3 ounces of a high-quality foam cannon soap with warm water in the 32 oz bottle. Ensure the top knob is turned fully clockwise (closed) for maximum thickness.
